FAQ

FAQ

Q1.What is the difference between Azabudai Clinic and Toranomon Clinic?
A

They are two clinics operated by the same medical corporation, each with a different role.

The Azabudai Clinic centers on orthopedics and actively offers regenerative medicine for joints (PRP, stem cells, etc.). Acupuncture and moxibustion are also offered at the Azabudai Clinic. General orthopedic consultations can also be covered by health insurance.

The Toranomon Clinic focuses on regenerative medicine, tests, IV drips and aesthetics, and is dedicated to Self-Pay Treatment.

If you are unsure which to visit, please consult us by phone. We will refer you between clinics as needed.

Q2.Can I use health insurance at the Toranomon Clinic?
A

As the Toranomon Clinic offers Self-Pay Treatment only, health insurance cannot be used. If you wish to receive insurance-covered care, please book at the Azabudai Clinic (Azabudai Hills Tower Plaza 4F), which provides insurance-covered orthopedic care. At the Azabudai Clinic, please present your health insurance card (My Number insurance card) at reception.

Q3.What happens during the initial consultation? How much does it cost?
A

For Self-Pay Treatment, the initial consultation fee is 5,500 JPY (tax incl.) and follow-up consultations are free. A doctor will listen to your symptoms and wishes, check your condition with ultrasound or other examinations as needed, and then explain treatment options and costs. You do not need to decide on treatment on the day of your first visit.

If you receive insurance-covered care at Azabudai Clinic, the insurance initial consultation fee is charged separately.

Q4.What is the difference between stem cell therapy, culture supernatant, exosomes, and PRP?
A

Stem cell therapy involves taking a small amount of fat from your own abdomen or elsewhere, culturing and multiplying the stem cells it contains, and then returning them to the body by joint injection or IV drip. Culturing takes approx. 2 months. Stem Cell Conditioned Medium is the fluid in which stem cells were cultured, with the cells removed; exosomes are tiny particles contained in it. It contains no cells themselves. Our IV drip is offered under the name " Exosome IV Drip." PRP is a concentrate of platelets from your own blood, prepared in the clinic and injected on the same day as the blood draw. Conditioned medium and exosomes use preparations not approved in Japan, so information on their sourcing and safety is explained on each treatment page.

Q5.How often should I receive intravenous (IV) infusions?
A

As a guide, once or twice a month. We adjust the interval to your condition and goals, such as when fatigue has built up or before an event. Because ingredients and recommended intervals differ by type of drip, at your first visit a doctor will ask about your health and any medications, then suggest the content and frequency. IV drips are available with the same content and at the same price at both Azabudai Clinic and Toranomon Clinic.
